I really believe this should be a sharing community. That being said, please feel free to include downloads with your lot uploads. All I ask is that you not post my files on your site or take credit for my work.
How To Install Package files….
- If you are using MTS’ monkey installer, just open the zip file and double click. It will automatically install to the correct directory.
- If you are NOT using the monkey installer, unzip package files to C:ProgramFiles/ElectronicArts/TheSims3/Mods/Packages
- Make sure you have the Resource.cfg file installed to your main Sims 3 folder. Without it, new objects will not show up in your game.
I’d really like to thank Snaitf and Srikandi for the tools and tutorial on how to make custom paintings. I’d also like to thank Sims 3 Tools forum and all it’s contributors for the sims3pe tool. Without it, we’d be nowhere. That being said, if you’d like to make your own custom paintings, you can go here to learn how to make them for yourself.
The paintings featured here all seperate objects. They do not overwrite the original paintings. They also will work with Gelydh’s default replacements that you can find at Garden of Shadows.
I have been asked how I created the stacked paintings in some of my screenshots. If you would like to do the same, you will need to make a sunken room with floor to ceiling windows. Here is a tutorial by Beefysim1 at MTS to show you how to do just that. I would like to note that you do not have to actually place the windows if you don’t need a floor to ceiling window effect.
